Abstract :
An embedded multipoint video mixer for PC based videoconferencing system is presented. The video mixer employs the embedded high quality media processor and connects to the PC based videoconferencing system with a PCI interface. This combination of embedded system and PC based open system can meet the requirements of real time and complexity of video processing in videoconferencing systems and also take advantage of open systems for multimedia and customized applications. The principle of the multipoint video mixer for videoconferencing systems is introduced. The realization of the video mixer based on H.263 standard is presented and the performance is analyzed.
