Abstract :
This paper reports a new antenna design for switched-beam antenna on mobile phone. The proposed antenna has three radiation patterns from three different feed positions. Its structure is relatively simple as it can be fabricated on single layer printed circuit board. The overall size is only 52× 110 mm2. The design is aimed to cover 3G Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems (UMTS; 1.92-2.17 GHz). The simulation and measurement results confirm the success of the proposed design.
