Abstract
We consider asymmetric distributed source coding (DSC) and propose a new rate-adaptive DSC code that is needed when the correlation varies in time. The proposed scheme is based on the puncturing of the syndromes of a convolutional code. Optimal decoding (under syndrome puncturing) is derived with complexity that grows only linearly with the number of punctured positions. Finally, an error resilient scheme is proposed. Both decoders are applied to the case of turbo-codes.
