Abstract :
The experimental and theoretical study of molecular interactions using ultrasonic and microwave techniques are reported for organic liquids and liquid crystals. A classification of these materials has been done as associative category I and II along with the normal one. This work is fruitful to understand the chemico-physical properties of organic liquids and departures from the normal characteristics. The liquid crystals have also been placed in the classification of materials on the basis of their strength of interaction. The present work is important and the qualitative description on the basis of experimental theoretical treatment is fruitful in understanding the molecular interactions and the classification of different materials. Consideration of a suitable potential including the short range interactions of a tagged molecule through the state of broken or intact hydrogen bonds in pure liquids may enhance the rigor of the present work, however, there may not be much quantitative change on the macroscopic scale
