Abstract :
The dielectric relaxation phenomenon is briefly described. The anisotropy, classification and properties of liquid crystals, frequency dependent functions, relaxation times, mechanism and analysis of experimental data along with theoretical approaches with specific examples of liquid crystals are reported. The work presented enhances our understanding of dielectric relaxation and may be fruitful in opening some possibilities for applications
