Abstract :
By mapping information used by a fuzzy logic system (FLS) from Euclidean to Riemann space, we are able to obtain a formulation of the FLS on the complex plane, and thus exploit the properties of vector manipulations. This enables us to express an FLS in a complex-exponential summation form, and derive an expression for the recall error, using concepts from n-dimensional geometry. We also examine the performance of the complex-valued FLS in a system identification example, and compare it with that of an equivalent real-valued FLS
