Abstract
This paper based on the brief discussion of main mechanical properties of composite geomembrane, the nonlinear finite element method is applied to calculate the deformation and stress of a geomembrane as impervious body in rockfill dam. Analysis of stability against sliding of dam with composite geomembrane by using the finite element method. Through analyzes the pore water pressure of dam and the shear characteristics between composite geomembrane and coarse-grained materials of dam, research the influences of stability against sliding of dam composite geomembrane impervious body. The analysis results show they can meet the need of the dam´s normal operation. Therefore a better way to evaluate the stability of Geomembrane as Impervious Body would be proposed.
