Abstract :
A novel formula for calculating the capacity of operational GSM networks at the air interface is proposed. The main goal of the definition is to properly reflect the existing traffic distribution. Since the basic formula may produce somewhat unstable results, we further introduce two parameters to establish sufficiently smooth behavior. The dependence of capacity both on these parameters and on time is studied using traffic measurements from the E-Plus network
