Abstract
In choosing a product standard for low-voltage distribution equipment, such as molded-case circuit breakers (MCCBs), the entire electrical system including equipment and infrastructure must be considered. Links between the installation codes and the product standards provide for safety of the equipment that is interconnected in the system. A mixture of equipment certified to different product standards may leave the system with an unknown safety situation. Product standards do not stand alone; they are part of the overall electrical safety system
