Abstract :
The MDE Consortium, under a cost-shared program with DARPA, is developing design tools, methodology, and models to support virtual prototyping of microwave and millimeter-wave multi-chip assembly (MCA) modules. The goal of this effort is to replace the design-build-test methodology used to develop MCAs by a simulation-based design methodology to achieve a 3X reduction in design cycle-time and cost and improved-performance designs. This paper provides an overview of the program and its four development areas: Design Environment (design capture and interchange), Circuit and Behavioral Simulation, EM Simulation, and Models/Modeling tools. The program is ongoing and key accomplishments to-date are discussed
