Abstract :
It has been shown that the MIMO performance is strongly affected by the effects of mutual coupling between antenna elements. This study numerically and experimentally investigates the mutual coupling effects on the self-impedance of a five-element microstrip antenna array. Experimental validation shows the effectiveness of the numerical method using GEMS EM Simulator for the further analysis on the communication system performance.
