  • Abstract
    A data exchange and sharing mechanism is present among various general FEM softwares. Based on the OPP concept, a kernel module is designed to link FEM softwares and IFC based 3D solid database. Different classes are constructed to store model information from different FEM softwares and mapping relationships are set up between the classes and the kermel module. An example of high rise building model is illustrated the data tranfer process from MIDAS to ABAQUS and it is verified the effectiveness and the conveniences of the data exchange and sharing mechanism.
