Abstract
A method of synthesizing the lossy nonuniform transmission line in the time-domain is presented. In this method, the time-domain response at the both ends of transmission line is given, and the characteristic impedance profile and the loss profile along it are derived. We use only the first part of each response. When the nonuniform transmission line has the loss, it is shown that neither the characteristic impedance profile nor the loss profile are uniquely decided only by giving its input port (near end) time-domain response. Next, the method of finding the lossy nonuniform transmission line with specified output port (far end) time-domain response by the optimization techniques is described from among the one who has specified input port (near end) time-domain response. Moreover, the effectiveness is shown by the numerical examples.
