Abstract :
The effect of measurement, including calibrated range, algal growth phase, chlorophyll-a and turbidity, on phycocyanin by the in-vivo fluoroscopy were investigated. The cyanobacteria, Microcystis aeruginosa PCC 7820, Anabaena circinalis and Planktothricoides raciborskii were cultured to measure the contents of phycocyanin for understanding the variation of phycocyanin in the different species and growth phase. The green alga, Chodatella sp., and Kaolin soil were used as the sources of chlorophyll-a and turbidity to build the mixed samples for testing the effect by the overlapped absorption of the optical spectrum. The demonstration from several reservoirs in Taiwan showed the well correlation after modification by those interfered factors from this study.
