Abstract
This paper presents a control strategy for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in order to better dynamic performance in transient condition of an islanded micro-grid. The micro-grid consists of two sources, a distributed generation based wind turbine equipped with a DFIG and a conventional gas-turbine synchronous generator. The controllers are designed for optimal response of the generators under load variation. The micro-grid is simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC and the results show the effectiveness of the presented strategy.
