Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine education service providers´ demand for entrepreneurial ability. To achieve this goal, in this study we first used in-depth interviews with student teachers in the education service business to understand their motives for starting their own businesses, their entrepreneurial ability and the elements for starting their own businesses. The results showed that the entrepreneurial ability of teachers in the education service business should be based on “educational philosophy and professional knowledge”. First of all, they should have “business function” ability such as marketing, economics, finance, accounting, management and IT as their main abilities, followed by “business assessment” ability, such as global market knowledge, legal knowledge and business planning ability. The final ability will be “entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial opportunities” as the reflection of entrepreneurs´ setting of cognitive awareness and goal-orientation in the education service business after their assessment of the business.
