Abstract :
Describes a fuzzy simulation preliminary study on palletising optimisation in a canned goods industry from Murcia (Spain). The packaging system consists of seven tables to collect the cans coming from a production line once they have been separated based on the type of product, and seven pallets with up to five levels of cans. An X-Y robot with a magnetic manipulator holds onto the cans from the collecting table and piles them up on the pallet. A PLC controls the palletising operation. This PLC uses a fuzzy logic card to optimise the attendance request from each collecting table. The performance of the system was simulated on a PC using fuzzy algorithms. Once the behaviour of the simulated system was sufficiently acceptable the algorithm was translated to the fuzzy logic instruction set. The obtained results are shown in the article
