Abstract
Dot Pattern Matching (DPM) is essential and important to a wide variety of image analysis and pattern recognition problems. This paper presents a new grid based optimized DPM algorithm and employs it for shape matching and object matching through edge map. The evolutionary algorithm used for optimized matching is a combination of genetic algorithm in a course-to-fine resolution space and Tabu Search (TS) process. The performance of the proposed method is compared with some relevant approaches employed for pattern matching and function optimization problems.
