Abstract
A parametrically controlled terrain generation method guided by a sketch map is presented in this paper. Users can place terrain features in an intuitive way by drawing the sketch, and some adjustable parameters which can be easily understood are used to control the generation process. We implemented our method in a PC, and experiments show that terrains are generated efficiently. This method provides users a controllable way to generate terrains; users without special modeling skills can easily generate favorable terrains according to their intensions.
