Abstract
International Assignment (IA) has been growing to meet the special skills, promote global integration, and develop future global leaders. SHRM-International Assignment Process model comprises 5 stages. This paper studies 3 Chinese companies, NORINCO, CETC and HUWAEI working in Pakistan, following of SHRM-IA Process Model. Research identifies the three week stages including Pre-departure Stage, On Arrival in Host Country and During the Assignment stage. According to the analysis and findings of the study, the home country HR Departments are also weak on creating awareness regarding language, culture, business environment, and other documentation procedures. Further research may be undertaken on a broader spectrum and compare the trends with Chinese International Assignees working in other countries as well. This research is of great value to Chinese Global Enterprises aspiring to excel on International Assignments to optimize performance of their assignees especially in the host country Pakistan.
