Abstract
Pressure drop indirectly affects the thermal performance of a heat sink. In the absence of computer simulated software, predicting the pressure drop across the heat sink would rely entirely on theoretical correlation. In addition, theoretical pressure drop prediction can also served as a reference for comparison with experimental data and numerical results. Different theoretical heat sink pressure drop approximations produce different results and finding one that can represent the experimental data is difficult. This paper introduces a modified method of predicting the theoretical pressure drop and conducts a comparative analysis of pressure drop findings among the theoretical results, the CFD generated results, and the experimental results.
