Abstract :
We propose to integrate optical amplifier stage into ROADM module so that the complexity of the ROADM can be reduced. The proposed ROADM consists of a simplified Raman-amplifier-based wavelength selective switch, which is constructed by only one unit of Raman amplifier and two 3-dB couplers.
