Abstract :
Spreading code protocols for networks using spread-spectrum signaling are examined. Fully connected networks with uniform traffic matrices are considered. Performance is measured by means of steady-state throughput of an encoded frequency-hopped system without feedback. Two protocols are considered, one that uses a common code for address packets and transmitter-based codes for information packets and one that uses receiver-based codes instead of a common code. It is shown that the latter scheme results in better performance than the former. It is also shown that a previously-derived result for the former scheme is actually an upper bound on performance.<>
