Third-generation (3G) mobile systems present unique challenges in the radio/analog front-end design of a cellular handset. This paper presents key RF receiver requirements and implementation challenges for a 3G code division multiple access (WCDMA) system based on the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) specifications. Measured results of a WCDMA receiver ASIC are presented for key receiver parameters
