Abstract
Asymptotic stability of completely retarded time-invariant linear systems is investigated with the Lyapunov functional method. Some delay inequalities are first established as lemmas then a new type of stability theorem is established for general retarded functional differential equations and a sufficient criterion for the asymptotic stability of completely retarded time-varying linear systems is obtained. Some corollaries on the asymptotic stability of zero solutions of completely retarded time-invariant linear systems are then given in algebraic form
