Experiential researches proved that pedestrian oriented design (POD) is contributive to raise transit trips in USA cities. No one discussed about the influences of POD on mass rapid transit riderships in Chinese City. This paper discusses this issue by taking Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jhonghe Line Jingan station and Dingxi station in Taipei for case studies and taking advantage of questionnaire and multiple regression analysis. Finally, this paper finds positive relationships between POD and transit riderships in Chinese City, Taipei.
