Abstract :
This paper describes common channel signaling (CCS) link design methods by analyzing the signaling traffic of systems such as HLR (home location register), SMC (short message center), IN (intelligent network), BSC (base station controller), BTS (base transceiver system) and IWF (interworking function) in the PCS network and designs the CCS signaling link according to the introduction of INS (intelligent network service) in the existing PCS network. We analyze the signaling procedures for different service connections of INS and calculate the required number of signaling links according to the number of subscribers and traffic data. In addition, we suggest a CCS network expansion technique for the increasing signaling traffic
