Abstract
Contactless energy transmission system boasts the advantages such as safety, reliability, low maintenance, and long product life. However, with no connections between the input side and output side, the control of the power converters will be made difficult without the knowledge of the secondary voltage and current information. In this paper, a novel primary-side controlled contactless battery charger is proposed. Analysis of the presented system as well as the software algorithm will be provided in detail. The advantages of the proposed system include simplified design and reduced size of secondary side. Simulation and experimental results are then provided to validate the correctness of the proposed system.
