Abstract :
A significant majority of 40Cr steel as high speed spind requires hard,strong,wear-resistant.Spindle are important components for machine tool.lt can reduce disbursal and improve efficiency by enhancing the life of spindle. In this paper,40Cr steel with normalized one has been hardened by laser. Technics: spot diameter 7 mm,laser power 1600 W,scan speed 15 mm/s,then microstructures analysis, rigidity measure and wear test. The result show: 40Cr laser heat treatment samples have high hardness and good antiwear ,comparing to the conventional heat treatment samples, and hardness of the outer layer is lower than the subsurface layer, it is easy to reach the laser-hardened layer after fine grinding. And it will provide data support for partially spindle laser heat treatment process and experiments.
