Abstract :
A high throughput energy efficient digital matched filter design method for low power communication systems is presented. The filter coefficients are designed to optimize spectral concentration in the transmission bandwidth of the channel with zero intersymbol interference while minimizing the energy dissipation. The optimum matched filter coefficients are searched from the discrete powers-of-two number space and each of the coefficients are restricted to contain at most a finite number of nonzero bits to reduce power dissipation and to increase throughput
