Present situation analysis and countermeasure on vernacular architecture protection — taking the five cities and counties of hangzhou as example

In this paper, the present situation of Chinese vernacular architecture, its characteristics and existing problems are reviewed, on base of which the principles of vernacular architecture protection are put forward. In addition, the classification and graded protection of vernacular architecture are further discussed. At last, a sustainable development of vernacular architecture is proposed according to the real situation of China.
