Novel Optical Coupling System Coupling LDA with Micro-Cylindrical Lens Arrays for Solid Lasers

Abstract :
A micro-cylindrical lens arrays coupling system is designed according to the structure and the lasing characteristics of LDA, ray tracing equations is presented based on the law of optical refraction and reflection, and the ray tracing of light beams passing through micro-cylindrical lenses is given with Matlab programs. The simulation results show that overall beam convergence have been realized only through micro-cylindrical lenses by choosing the distance of 70 mum between LDA and micro-cylindrical lens arrays, and that at the same time the divergence angle of each LD array in the fast-axis have been compressed. This design also simplifies the structure of solid lasers.
