Abstract
A new train speed protection control system (ATP) adapted to the Chinese railway transportation mode are being developed as a key research project in China. This paper describes the main principle of the advanced ATP system. The braking model used in ATP and a rule-based experience speed control model is studied in detail, which matches more closely the braking curve normally followed by the driver
