Abstract :
The decline in memory costs have made larger disk caches affordable in high performance I/O systems. In an earlier paper by the authors (see Proc. of the Int. Conf. of the ACM SIGMOD, p.123-32, 1990), write only disk caches where proposed and were shown to be effective in improving write performance. However, the models used in the paper were for a single surface disk. This paper extends these models to multiple surface disks, developing models and using simulations to validate them
