Abstract
Scatter characteristics of 50 cm wind-generated waves have been investigated with a C-band radar in a large wind-wave tank. The spectrum of the wind waves was examined in the 2D Fourier domain. The presence of wave groups was made more obvious in the data by applying a statistical measurement, the normalized variance of the intensity. Evidence of the presence of repeating wave groups is demonstrated in range-time intensity images, and in the Fourier domain as discrete spots along the group line
