Abstract :
Superstructure will develop accessional internal force under nonuniform settlement of foundation. In this paper, the symmetric frame structure with symmetric nonuniform base settlement is studied. The simplified theoretical method of how to calculate the accessional internal force of this frame structure is deduced. In addition, taking one symmetric frame structure building with two spans and four storeys for example, the simplified theoretical solution and FEM analysis software are used under considering the nonuniform base settlement of the structure. Through data comparison of these two methods, the results indicate that the simplified theoretical method is feasible and practical.
