Abstract
This paper presents an application of the knowledge based expert system to the evaluation of environmental project alternatives, based on Saaty´s analytic-hierarchical process. Priorities of criteria and the degree of criterion fulfilment of the alternative were obtained by calculating eigenvectors of matrices, filled by interdisciplinary group of experts. To obtain the overall ranking of environmental project alternatives three combinatorial rules have been used
