Abstract :
The purpose of engineering education is to make the students become a qualified engineer, with specialized technology, a strong social consciousness and a sound capability of practice and innovation. In today´s society, the industrial technology is becoming increasingly complex, sustainable industrial products and systems are emerging, and it is a necessity to cultivate a group of students with ethics, talents and capabilities to cater to the social development. The essay analyzes a new industrial educational method, i.e. CDIO teaching mode, in the twenty-first century. We can learn from the experiences in the emergence of CDIO education, the introduction of CDIO to China, and the development and achievement in some universities. The essay discusses the necessity for school-enterprise cooperation and the role of school-enterprise cooperation in the process of CDIO teaching.
