Abstract :
The electric properties of igniter for HID Lamps have been investigated in this paper. The main contributions are as the followings: (1) A few of models of igniter have been put forward to analyize the electric properties; (2) Based on the proposed models, an useful method has been developed; (3) Through the theoretic analyzing, some valuable conclusions for designing this Igniter have been given out, such as the both of primary and secondary of Tesla transformer should operate in resonance with its capacitor and the coupling coefficient k of Tesla transformer has a optimum value ( k=0.6). A prototype has been made up. The proposed theory and approaches have been verified by the results of the experimental result and computer simulation results given in this paper.
