Abstract :
In this paper, a computational model of periodic pattern selective cells, also called grating cells, is proposed. Several computational models are illustrated in the literatures, based on Gabor filter and non-linear operations, including a large amount of arithmetical operations. In this paper, an efficient approach, based on the Gabor filter correlation in several directions, superposition of results, and morphological operations, is proposed which includes too many less mathematical operations, compared with the other methods mentioned in literatures.
