Abstract :
Safety culture effectively promotes the elevation of safety performance in Shandong Province coal mines. To investigate the characteristics of safety culture, quantitative measurement for safety culture was conducted with the tools developed by the Safety Management Research Center of China University of Mining & Technology, Beijing. Scores for 32 safety culture elements were obtained from 23 coal mines in Shandong Province with the safety culture measurement tools. Clustering analysis on the measuring results was conducted using the software SPSS 15.0. The results showed that the 23 coal mines could be divided into four clusters and they presented significant difference. The most prominent coal mine in the aspect of safety culture construction was M15 which could provide helpful experience in safety management. Finally, some common problems and academic issues were put forward.
