Abstract
Distribution power electronic transformers are introduced to improve the power quality issues as well as to reduce the size and the cost of the transformers once technological progress made it possible. In this paper first, some existing configurations are overviewed. Then a new circuit topology is introduced for input and output stages of a power electronic transformer. This circuit comprises three-phase input matrix converter, three-phase four-wire output matrix converter and the high frequency transformer. Control scheme of input and output link is analyzed and simulation result of the system is presented. Reduced size, lower price, higher efficiency and better voltage regulation are some of the advantages of this approach.
