Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce an area of application of ultrasound techniques which may be new to ultrasound engineers. It highlights the problems with individual materials and the benefits which may be derived. It does not introduce new ultrasound techniques, but gives an overview of the application of standard techniques in a new area
