Abstract
This paper proposes a simple method for determining of capacitance requirements of three phase self-exited induction generators(SEIG). Consideration of capacitance of the SEIG based on equivalent circuit model under steady-state load conditions and a power flow diagram is given. Performance testing has been performed under a wide range of operating conditions such as no - load and on - load with pure resistive and resistive - inductive load conditions. Experimental results can be guidelines for simply suitable capacitance determination method for SEIGs with reasonable terminal voltage regulation under a wide range of operation.
