Abstract :
The strong weathering rock mass of the engineering slope which is located on the Gushui hydropower station shows obvious phenomenon of toppling deformation. With the deterioration of slope stability caused by excavating, the aggravation of deformation may cause landslides of the slope. According to the results of finite element method(FEM), the most dangerous slip surface and the minimum safety factor of slopes are presented by using the method of limit equilibrium finite element. Furthermore, we compared this method with the method of traditional limit equilibrium and strength deduction, verified the correctness and rationality of this approach. This means that the proposed method can provide solid basis for practical engineering design.
