Abstract :
We have designed a serial interface heater array with biocompatible packaging. Several different adhesion factors were tested for each of the materials used in the packaging to determine the best overall surface preparation for cell culture on a commercially fabricated CMOS die with PDMS packaging. The heaters were individually tested to determine the variations over the array. The heater array was calibrated to determine resistance values for each element of the array. Once calibrated the heater array can be used to control the temperature of an arbitrary set of locations to any temperature up to 85degC. The array can also be used in incubation mode for either incubation or to maintain the cells during testing
