Abstract :
Bolted connection under static shear has been widely used in steel structural application, whose design methods are different in different codes. Especially with the development of high strength steel, the validity of current design methods should be well checked. According to GB50017-2003, Eurocode 3, ANSI/AISC360-05 , BS5950 and AS4100, bolted connection under static shear is contrasted for the design process in this paper. The related example in calculations is given and the results of the design are compared. It´s found that the design rule isn´t applicable for steel grade S460 and further parametric analysis should be carried out to explore the bearing performance.
