  • Abstract
With the exploitation of our city, the harmony between waterfronts and people have vanished. Based on the analysis over the natural and cultural factors of three waterfront regions in Chongqing, the paper summarizes the human-nature relationship and its problems. Taking the low-impact development ideas which emphasize on respecting the nature, the paper proposes the "water-friendly planning". This planning stresses on ecological and natural rehabilitation planning and the low-impact waterfront development planning so as to fulfill the ecological compatibility between the urban and natural areas.
