            Abstract :
We present an effective image colorization method in which the user only needs to scribble in key areas of a monochrome image with intended colors. Computation complexity is reduced by introducing a simple weight function. Using sub-sampling and interpolation, the colorization process is accelerated without sacrificing the image quality. Cross-object color infiltration is prevented by using edge information extracted from the image. Experiments show that satisfactory colorization results can be obtained, and computation cost is reduced as compared to previous methods.
