Abstract :
A circuit approach suitable to compute the transient voltage distribution induced by a direct lightning on a metal container containing flammable liquid has been developed. The model takes into account of the presence of the plant ground, which being passed through by pulsed currents, is simulated by a multitransmission line model. The transient and spatial distributions of the voltage at the container walls are analyzed in order to foresee possible hazards
